Bringing access to basic Healthcare, One person at a Time
Gerber and Michelle Perez Acker lead the ministry of Healthy Communities. The ministry is focused with working with families in rural communities to bring access to holistic health through water filter systems, fuel – efficient stoves, dry composting latrines and ongoing trainings around health education and prevention. Healthy Communities is located in the southern part of Guatemala, near Coyolate, Suchitepéquez. Coyolate is located about 3 hours from Antigua Guatemala and is the hub of ministry focus with an active rural medical clinic that sees on average 75 patients weekly. Healthy Communities has a staff of four dedicated health and technology workers.
Gerber and Michelle have four children and live outside Antigua, Guatemala.
