When I was 16, I went on a short-term mission trip with my father and while we were on the trip, I heard a message from a local pastor and he was asking if we died today, where would we go?
I wasn’t sure of my answer and so as we were traveling back in the car I prayed along with my father and accepted Jesus Christ as my savior.
After various trips accompanying my father to the Ixcán, I could see that God was placing a call on my life to work beside the people in this area. For five years, I taught in Mission Impact’s partner schools and traveled to Ixcán whenever I could. He was opening many doors for me to return time after time and during this time, a love was growing in my heart for the people there. In 2007 I began to dedicate my time to full-time ministry in Ixcán and other communities in the western part of Guatemala, as well.
I married Michelle Acker in November 2011 and our beautiful baby girl, Elena Gabriella, was born in June 2013 and our son, Mateo Andrés, was born in February 2017.
Along with water technicians/health promoters and their families, we are reaching into the hearts of different communities, helping them to identify their problems and deciding on how they want to solve them and modeling Christ’s love through what we do.
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves,
it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.
