I have been blessed with many opportunities to serve in my lifetime and have no doubt received far more than I have given when I reflect on the people, locations, and projects I’ve been exposed to. Prior to joining Mission Impact, I worked alongside family members and friends with Christian Veterinary Mission on the Navajo Reservation in Arizona and in Haiti.
In February 2007, I found myself on a construction crew at Proximos Pasos School in Santa Maria de Jesus. Although strong in my faith, I could never have imagined the growth in myself and our school over the next few years. The girls of Proximos Pasos now enjoy a three-story structure with classrooms, kitchens and bathrooms. Our proudest accomplishments in that endeavor may just be the soy milk production kitchen, and plumbing system that allows for warm showers.
Much of my time with Mission Impact has been split somewhat equitably between Guatemala and Texas. There is no substitute for the genuine satisfaction one feels when working hand-in-hand with our field staff and the wonderful people of Guatemala. However, there are times when other demands require I work remotely. While at home in the States, my primary role is to handle the general administrative duties of our organization in support of the Mission Impact ministries.
Just as the school and girls attending have grown over the past few years, so have I. Amazing and Wonderful are words that often come to mind when I reflect on life’s ups and downs and the way God has provided the teachings to handle both gracefully. Whether at home or play; with family or friends; there is no greater road map than the one provided by Christ.

Love like that!
