A Trip to the Doctor

For $15 you can provide a sick child living in a rural village with a visit to the doctor to receive sound medical care.

Build a Stove

In Santa Maria de Jesus, there is a high incidence of respiratory illness and accidental burns associated with the use of wood-burning floor stoves in the homes. For only $100.00 a safer, healthier cooking stove can be built. This stove is fuel-efficient, elevated, and the smoke from the burning wood is vented outside, which improves the quality of the air inside the home.

Build a Water Collection Tank

In Santa Maria de Jesus, the average family has eight children and access to only 50 gallons of water total per day. You can help provide the necessary amount of clean water for cooking and drinking for an indigenous family. For only $400.00 a cistern can be built to collect and store rainwater for the family. Upon completion of the cistern, the family is trained to properly filter and purify their supply of water.

Child Sponsorship - Monthly

When you chose to sponsor a child through the Sowing Hope Sponsorship Program, you will receive an information packet with a biography and photo of a child in need. You can expect yearly personal updates from the school where your sponsored child attends. We ask for a minimum commitment of one year, but we encourage you to continue your sponsorship for as long as the child participates in our program. Sponsorship costs $30 per month or $360 for the entire year.

Good Samaritans Fund

An important ministry of Vida y Esperanza is developing a relationship with the families of the students through home visits. Sometimes, the families are in a time of great need or crisis. Your gift of $50.00 will provide an emergency basket of food, medicine, or other important items for a family in need.

Your gift of $50.00 will provide hygiene and dental posters, and plastic models to facilitate public health workshops in the community and public schools.

Introduce Young People to God's Word

Statistics say that 85% of Christians accept Jesus as their Savior between the ages of five and fifteen. Guatemala's youth are hungry for the Word of God, and Nueva Generacion is called to share it with them. For $30.00 you can provide a young person with a Bible and study materials for the year.

Equip the library with Christian books and school supplies for a donation of $100.00.

Lice Wash

Your gift of $125.00 will buy the necessary supplies to treat the girls at Proximos Pasos for lice. This is done on a monthly basis to help promote good hygiene among the students.

We often see patients who have extreme circumstances and/or no funds. Your gift of $25.00 would provide a gift of medication to help them begin the road to improved health.

Musical Instruments

For a gift of $100.00 you can provide the school with musical instruments for use by the worship team and student orchestra. Your gift will enable these teams to hold evangelistic outreaches in their own and surrounding villages.

Pastoral Training

Sponsor a group of pastors to attend monthly biblical training in order to be more affective in their communities and local schools. Your gift of $250.00 will cover accommodations and materials for all attendees for one session.

Provide a Christian Guatemalan Teacher/Nueva Generacion

Due to the increasing interest of the students to be a part of the Bible studies, discipleship groups, and the weekend retreats, there is a need to hire a national Christian teacher to work alongside Mission Impact's missionaries. Your gift of $300.00 will pay for the training and salary for a teacher for one month.

Provide a Lifetime of Clean Drinking Water

You can help provide the materials to construct a sand filter in the home of a family. This filter prevents gastro-intestinal infections by biologically treating drinking water prior to consumption.

Provide a place for a student to sit and receive the hope that an education brings to the girls of Santa Maria de Jesus. Children often have to sit at desks that are too small or broken. With your gift of $20.00 you can buy a new desk.

Soccer is the favorite past time for Guatemalan children during recess and after school. Most families can't afford a real soccer ball, so the children will use anything they can kick around. Your gift of $10 will provide a child witha new soccer ball.

In order to participate in the above projects, the family needs to provide tools to build and maintain the cistern or stove. Your gift of $25.00 will purchase the needed tools for one family to build and maintain the project they participate in.

Teacher Supply Packet

You can provide a Guatemalan teacher at Escuela Vida y Esperanza with a supply pack to start the new school year for $30.00. Your gift will provide a teacher with basic supplies such as a stapler, hole punch, tape, dry erase board markers, erasers, scissors, etc.

Your gift of $25.00 makes it possible for the children's ministry team to visit a rural village and hold an evangelistic children's meeting.
